Hi Nancy,

Once you have that sprouting you have a good head start,..you could place it in a pot or outside if the weather is right,..frost free,..in soil that is free draining so a mix of sand and soil,..treat it like you would any tropical plant,..keeping tropical plant in mind you will have success.

Hi Nancy, I have four different kinds of ginger, and Phillip right, tropical is the way to grow them, just like to add, mine are all growing in the shade, be careful of too much sun.
