It depends on what part of Florida. Only the tip of the panhandle gets the water from Lake Lanier.

But I did think Florida was in a drought as well.

Not all of Georgia is in the same level drought as the metro area. Mid and SE Georgia got more rain over the summer than we did so I think it is very possible that other areas (like Florida) are similarly blessed.

My parents live in the southeastern part of florida. They said they were supposedly in a drought but it rained practically every day this past summer when we didn't get squat.

They would joke at how they would come to visit and the rain would follow them! Of course they visited on my birtday late oct, then on turkey day late nov, and late dec on christmas... each time they came it rained because it was our regular monthly rain that always came at the end of the month. But they swore it was because they brought the rain with them.

Anyway that is a much different climate down there. They will have their dry spell in what we up here call "the spring" and they will get all the brushfires and complain about the bad drought they are in. And then the monsoon season will come during summer with daily t-storms. That is just how it is. If everything seems more alive down there it's because just 2 days ago it was in the 80's.

The people that use a lot of water are on wells which are fairly common down there since the water table is high.
The people that don't use a lot of water use city water, most municipal sources there charge for sewage based on metered water consumption so the bills can be very very high. The water bills would be about twice what they are here or possibly even more.
