We're getting it here too, sometimes with some sleet. Too warm for it to stick around I guess.

It's been snowing here on dunwoody perimeter campus for about an hour now and just about 5 mintues ago it started coming down pretty hard...

It's been snowing steadily and pretty heavy now for at least 3 hours. Occassional periods of sleet but now it's back to snowing huge flakes and it's accumulating here. The accumulation seems to be sporadic though...our property is at a slightly higher elevation and all of our yard has it now but just three miles away in town the yards there don't have much. I figured the North GA/AL areas could get this kind of snow but I didn't think we'd get it here along the I-20 corridor. Haven't seen this in years.

It's funny, we ran out of orange juice yesterday so I went to the local piggly wiggly today to get some and it seemed like half the town was in there stocking up on supplies lol. The only other time it's ever that crowded is the day before Thanksgiving. It's amazing how a little snow can make alot of Southerners panic.

It has indeed been a long time since its snowed like that! Something magical in seeing those big flakes float to the ground! Heres a picture of the "Sasquatch" of Georgia weather from 5:13pm...........

We're covered here. And it's still coming down. Maybe we'll get a few inches.

It's snowing WHITE in my subdivision zip 30005. Kids are out playing with snow even at 8:30 PM. My yard cover white color. This is really the 2nd time I see that kind of heavy snow in Atlanta since 2000..
Hu-ray! Hope snow will give us a good gardening year ahead. At least the Janpaness beatle will be killed...

had the snow, that yard is covered and now we have the freezing rain, which is lashing against the house. Wonder what it will be like in the morning? hopefully not icy

Ha! You wish. The Japanese beetle grubs are safely asleep in the ground. They'll come out when they're ready.

Had plenty of snow. The kids made a snowman over 5 feet tall in no time. It has also turned to sleet here now. Hope the rain behind it melts it off and doesn't create ice on the branches.

We got about 7/8" (.875") here until it started raining on it and turning into an ice storm. It still is very pretty out. Unless you look at the evergreen trees then it starts to look like an ice storm. It is 31 here and has been since about 6:30pm yesterday.

Hopefully we'll get some more on friday/saturday/sunday.
It looks like a small chance.

Oh and this confirms it. Whenever the weathermen start downplaying the forecast and say it won't snow or won't accumulate that usually means that it will.

I'm glad I kept my pine trees staked from the last ice storm. They are covered with ice, but still upright!

Yeah no kidding quirky. And the opposite is true too, seems they often make a huge fuss that turns out to be nothing. Anyone recall WINTER STORM WATCH 2000!! I can still see that stupid graphic that they would flash on the news every 5 minutes. They made it sound like we were going to get the blizzard of '93 all over again and it turned out to be some light accumulation that didn't last long. There were no major widespread ice problems either. I know they can't always be right but it's still annoying when they over-hype stuff.

Looks like there's more on the way. Of course, no one knows how much or when. :-) Conflicting reports from everyone. Sometime tonight or in to tomorrow. Perhaps as little as an inch or up to six if you're in the mountains. I guess we'll see when it happens.

My dogs sure do love playing in it.
