Wow! Does it usually continue blooming so late in the season? Do you think it continues this late because it's more protected next to the house? That is rally pretty. I can't tell from the picture, how tall is the flower? Thanks!

Thyme - they don't 'continue' to bloom this late - they START to bloom around the first of November for me! I have some in various places in the shade garden and they all bloom around the same time. They're about 3' tall in most locations. Some people do have trouble getting them to bloom before killing frost. Because mine are in the shade garden, the trees (and the house in that location) do give them some shelter, so that probably helps. So, if you're considering planting them, plant them in part shade under or near trees would be my recommendation.

Woody, look at those blooms, lovely. I have 'Brunette' but have to move it as it seems to be going downhill where it is, no blooms this year :(.
Is yours scented, Brunette has a lovely scent, we actually bought it after following our noses around a corner at a nursery we were visiting on the mainland, there it was a huge clump growing in their display border. I should be so lucky.

Another here who hates it when they change a name, it's hard enough for me to remember the name it used to be especially when I go to look something up and I can't find it. Then, it's back to thumbing through, looking at all the pictures (insert grumble, grumble here).

Annette - it has a bit of scent close up but not very noticeable - maybe because by the time it blooms, it's too cold and the scent doesn't carry well... The bugbane scents are interesting in that some people like them (I do) but others find them unpleasant (neighbour across the north fence calls the one she has 'the stinky plant' :-)
