    Hey, Esh! Thanks!!!!!!!

That's a really good article. I've been planning a dry creekbed for my mother's property in middle Georgia. She's been living in her house for 75 years and has never had such a problem with rain water until this past year.

I was so happy to see they included a list of perennials, trees, shrubs and grasses that would look natural in our area.

Very informative, thanks for the link, Esh!

    Bon

esh -- Yes, thanks for the article. I've finally figured out where my dry creek bed should "start." Which is great! But, it needs to start at the side of my new driveway (that I didn't plan to put in for another year or so, but now realize that I need to do it now, to assist with the drainage issues). Which is bad. Anybody got a gazillion extra dollars in their couch cushions, they can spare? Hahaha...

There IS some good news in that the drainage guy has said our property is not a lost cause after all and that he can fix it! Yay!

I need one in my back yard. We had it landscaped 6 years ago, but with all the rain, we've got a nice stream route along the back of the lawn in front of a raised bed. But it winds up washing out a lot of my mulch and lawn, so now it looks like a big gash. The landscaper graded the yard so the water flows this way into a storm drain on my neighbors property right behind my fence. So now all I have to do is have it dug out and get the rocks. Oh, and get $10K for someone to do it! LOL.

buford -- I hear ya! The money is the current issue for me too. I think I remember someone at the swap last year talking about how the city or one of the counties up there in the ATL area gave homeowners on particular creek bed slopes loads of rock or something like that, if they wanted to terrace the area or help with drainage or whatever. I can't remember exactly what the deal was but I remember thinking it was a really GOOD one! Wish I had that opportunity here in Middle GA!

That "loads of rock" is rough cut grey boulders (perhaps granite?). Not the prettiest stuff - stictly meant to control erosion.

esh -- Yes, that was it...for erosion control. Yeah, it might not be my first choice for stone color either; however, when I'm looking down at my empty wallet... LOL
