I know there's nothing unique about this but whatabout the many juniperus varieties? blue rug (low growing) to Parson's (medium growing) Andora (higher growing)

Thanks. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best. I have no problem with blue rug juniper in this situation. The foliage will tie into the other blue greens and the space is somewhat limited.
If there are not other more unique suggestions, I will go with the juniper because it will do the job that needs to be done and I can be more creative in other areas.

You could make it sort of unique by perhaps making a conifer garden on that slope. I wouldn't want to have to maintain or pull weeds on a steep slope because I would probably fall and roll down into a mud puddle so it could be a good spot for a low maintenance conifer garden with dwarf evergreens.

QQ thanks again for a good idea. I can visualize that area as a dwarf conifer garden but that is not what I have planned and I am 1/2 way through my plan. The area that I would juniper is only a pie shape 2' wide and 6-8' long section of the slope. If the deciduous and lavender/sage/grass don't work out,I may conifer/rock garden the slope.
The slope is only set back from the road 10-15' and it is on the property line. I would need to import a good amount of natural, local rock.

What about creeping raspberry if you want a low growing ground cover. Or daylilies. I am having a hard time visualizing what you have so those may not be the right types of thing. I also have had great luck with golden creeping jenny and that will complement the reddish foliage of most lorapetlums very nicely. If you want more of a shrub what about creeping gardenia?

Kathy-thank you for the ideas. I will try creeping raspberry and I will plant some of the golden creeping jenny to cascade over a retaining wall with the loropedalum above.
