Does anyone have any experience growing soapberry trees here in (Smyrna) Georgia?

When I read up on them I get different information about what zones they grow in. I would absolutely love to be able to grow one and use the soap berries (or soap nuts) for detergent, especially for laundry since I'm in the process of making a graywater system. These would be perfect.

I know you can buy them on line but it'd be more fun to grow the tree and in time, harvest my own.
