toad lilies leafing out-- normal or doomed?

I put in a bunch of toad lilies last year. They looked great this fall! I love their freaky blooms. Then cold weather came and they lost their leaves, like I expected.

They've started leafing out now, though, those pretty tender leaves shining green through the leaves I let cover their bed. Is that normal or are they doomed if we ever get cold weather again? The foliage looks like it's a little frost-bitten already.
