Their latest ad for opening specials is now posted on their website for Friday(2/24) opening. Looks pretty much the same as last year. Wish they would list some of the available perennials, as it's a very long drive for me and sometimes don't find anything in that category that I can use. But, I always manage to arrive home fully loaded!

I live about 5 minutes away, so I might stop by this weekend. I'll let you know what I find if I do.

Here is a link that might be useful: Here's their ad

    thanks efam

I would love to know what they have in stock. I live a long way, and I want to plan my trip.

If I can be so bold, I'm looking for/thinking about:
    1. ground covers - phlox, achillea, candytuft
    2. Lorapedalum Ruby
    3. Perennials
    4. larger varieties of azaleas

I'm not giving orders, so don't feel obligated.

Ah, dang! If only it was opening tomorrow (Thursday) since that will be the only day I can get there for a while...

Sure, guys. I'm starting to get excited about them opening, so I am definately going to go.

Don't be surprised if some of your favorite plants aren't available or in limited quanities this year. Some of the wholesale nurseries in FL and Southern AL & MS suffered severe damage from Hurricanes last year and there is also an increased demand for available plants, from victims of those disasters, replacing the one's that were damaged or destroyed.

Thank you so much for the list of plants that are available. I know I will be visiting you this weekend!

I wasn't able to make it this weekend (rain and all), so I'm glad he posted.

    Woody_ga,
I saw two large varieties of azaleas, George Tuber and Formosa. All the perennials they have are listed in the above post.
I would wait a few more weeks before going out...I saw that they are expecting more shipments of azaleas next week.

    Thank you!

I went today and bought 3 peonies- one each of Sarah Bernhardt, Karl Rosenfield, and a FESTIVA MAXIMA. I'm so excited to get these, especially for $3 each! There are a lot of these there, as she said- plenty to go around!
Also got some perennials including delphiniums & foxgloves, some amarylis and some tulips. I'm planning a to take a trip back in Mid-March when their irises, roses, and some different perennials will be coming in.
    Well worth the trip!

I can feel a field trip coming!

Oh, Growers Outlet -- I loved you before but I love you even more now that you are posting prices on GardenWeb. I come all the way from Alpharetta, but I'm never disappointed.

I stopped in this past Sunday 10 minutes before closin' time and still left with 4 plants -- 3 beautiful peonies and a fountain grass, all for about $15. The place was wiped out, though. I think everybody had the same idea I did with the nice weather.

Wow, great stuff, I love that you are posting this info for us. I really want to get over there this weekend now.

I agree with Kathy. I made a trip yesterday after I saw the updated list. It was so worth it. Very nice plants! Please keep posting as the selection changes.

    Thank you.

I went for the first time yesterday and got a flat of Heuchera for $1 each, a bundle of hellebores at $2.50 apiece, a flat of Sum&Substance hostas 7/$10 and a lovely-looking hydrangea. Wow. Now it's time to really make a nice shade bed before the (*&@#^! wild strawberries take over again.

Thanks again for posting the inventory!

I went Sunday and got an awesome birdbath, Sarah Bernhardt peony and some amaryllis. The place was packed. We really did have nice weather considering it is COLD again! This was my second trip, I'm building my flower garden in the back yard since we took out the pool.

Thinking of going there this week. Thought I'd bump this for others to see.

Went there today and bought several things to add to my shade and sun beds: Purple Plum Loropetalum, gardenia radicans, windmill palm, several hostas, nandina and hellebores.
Spring has arrived!! Let the plant shopping begin.....

garden graphic girl what time were you there? I was there around 10:00 and bought some gardenia radicans, 2 more baawle's pink azaleas, another camellia, more hellebores, another sum & substance, tetete daffodils, mexican heather, bleeding heart, some day lilies and a concrete planter. All for what the 7 gardenia's would have cost me anywhere else. I can't wait to see how my front bed looks this summer. (not everything was for there, but I did totally redo it.)

Oh so then I had to check out that little nursery about 5-7 miles down on Hwy 20 on the way back. Picked up their last 4 veronica georgia blue and a few bags of perma till. Stop me now before I buy anymore plants!!!

Oh my gosh Kathy, I was there about 1-1:30!!!
What nursery did you stop at on Hwy 20?? ( I take Hwy 81 to 78 from Auburn). Maybe we should wear nametags that say "I'm from Garden Web" when we go there next time.~LOL And you got the veronica georgia blue that I'm looking for!!!!

I wish we all new who were the GWebers. Everytime I go, I wonder if I am running in to someone on the forum. Was there last week filling up my F Explorer! What a place to shop! My neighbor couldn't believe what I paid for my carload

When will you have some Easter lilies?

My mom and I are heading there after the trade at GGGs (as if we won't already have enough to keep us busy lol). We're so rarely anywhere close to it so we just make a day of it. Anyone wanna' tag along? We can have a Gardenwebbers convoy lol.

I have to go sometime this weekend - I went last week and totally forgot the verbena I went for. I agree, we need buttons or ribbons or hats or something.

Went Sat morning. Left home at sunrise and arrived well before scheduled opening time. They were already open! and had a few shoppers. Went to get a dozen Formosa Azaleas only and came home with about 50 plants. Probably would have bought more, but by 9:30 the place was so crowded, I couldn't get my already overflowing cart through the aisles.
Thought I spotted another GWer there, a couple with 2 large carts, both overflowing. But after I left, they passed me on the highway, traveling about 10MPH over the speed limit and the wind was whipping the blooms off of those large $9 Azaleas loaded upright in the bed of their pickup. I decided they weren't GWers after all, otherwise, they would have known how to load plants to transport them safely, with minimal damage!
Next time I'll go very early on Sunday morning, my usual day.

Yesh, I am YEARNING for the time when I can get to Growers Outlet. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it there and need some more of their fantastic shrubs. I'd really like blueberries if they have some more.
The folks who run the place are just so nice and helpful too!

Okay I told myself I wasn't going this spring, but you are making it hard. I always say the drive is only worth it if I buy a bunch of stuff (which I always do) but I really shouldn't be buying a bunch of stuff I need to be focusing on preparing some areas. Like if I am ever going to plant blueberries I need to get that area ready. I did get some great stuff last year however and was just admiring how nice some of it is looking. the people there are very nice.

I have already been TWICE this year. I was going to look for some gardenias. I got gardenias. I got plumbago. I got double impatiens. I got dwarf mondo grass. I got a lot of hostas. I got Wave petunias. I got pink lantana. I got a clematis. Never mind that I have nowhere to put a clematis since I got 4 of them last year, I just got anyway. Their prices are so great, it's hard to resist.
