It's Official!

With the vernal equinox occurring just over an hour ago, at 7:44 AM EDT, it is now officially Springtime!

However, I expect frosty temperatures will try to hang on for several more days, maybe weeks.

Many of the showy spring ephemerals are up and blooming, Rue Anemone, Bloodroot, Trilliums, etc., and the Celandine or Wood poppies are springing up everywhere, but no flowers yet. A number of exotics think it's time to unfurl their leaves, Hydrangeas, Hostas, Paeonies and JM's. One JM cultivar, 'Murasaki kiyohime' has a full complement of colorful new leaves, which seem to have appeared overnight!

Tomatoes & Peppers will have to remain in the GH for another 3-4 weeks, as the long term forecast is predicting near freezing temperatures at the end of March, into the first of April.

Time to buy the medication for sore muscles!
