Yes. They do great. Can't stop them from growing. Never look bad during anytime of the growing season. Planted them originally in a shady damp spot that never dries out. They thrived for two years. Decided last year to move them in the middle of the summer. Moved them to a woodland garden where it is not dry, but is drier. They fell over and died, but started coming up again in early fall - not an impressive amount, but coming up again. They are now coming up again for this season.
I planted them like I plant all ferns - with five shovels full of homemade compost worked into the planting hole. Other than that, did nothing special. Don't know what their reputation is, but my experience with them is that it would take a concrete mulch to harm them. They have been doers for me. Put them where they'll get lots of room to spread out and nod in the shade. They are lovely.

I'll trade some with you in the fall. They're just coming up now and need the season to establish themselves and multiply. Unless there's an ostrich fern disaster this summer, I should have extras by October. If it's anything like other years, I should have many more by then. I have them in a drier spot now, so I don't know if they'll be as aggressive this year or not. If you want some before then, and I'm sure you do, Goodness Grows usually has them. That will give you a starter.
