If you store them in cold they may sprout as soon as you sow them out if you get a few warm days that late. Then you could loose them in the colder part of the winter.

So long as your climate is cool enough to give them a few weeks of natural 'refrigeration' you may do better to just keep them at room temp.

I've had very good luck planting seed soon after I harvest them. I mean, think about it, if it were left up to Mother Nature, they'd fall out of the pod and essentially be planted immediately. I usually do let them dry for a few days and then plant them. If you do that, they should be large enough to overwinter this year.
I planted hundreds of seed in small 4 inch seed pots in the summer and fall of 2006. Once these were large enough, I transplanted most of them to my seedling beds. However, I ran out of room, steam, and time and lots got left in the small cups over winter. Most of them made it through the winter with no cover or anything. I transplanted them to a seedling bed in the spring of 07 and got bloom on lots of them this season. They're hardier than most folks give them credit for. :)
