I am new to patio gardening and just got some Martha Washington pelargoniums/geraniums in April. They seem to be doing fantastic (lots of blooms) in my patio that gets about 8 hours of full sun a day, with days averaging about 75-80 degrees, most days being sunny. They are in 3' X 6" X 4" containers that are well drained. I water them every other morning. I am guessing that the weather has been perfect for Marthas in So Cal lately which is why they are doing well.

Since they are doing so well, do I still need to fertilize/feed them or will I need to do that when it gets warmer/colder? Also, I keep reading that Marthas do not like heat. Well, what does "heat" mean? The average summer temp in So Cal is high 80's to mid 90's with little to no humidity. Is this considered too "hot" for Marthas and I should not expect blooms during July,Aug,Sept?

Also, living in Southern California where the temp rarely drops below 40 degrees at night during the winter, is it necessary to "overwinter" them? My guess is no. Just expect dormant plants over the winter and maybe water less?
