Due to the exceptionally warm weather and lack of cold we are experiencing the dogwoods and many other spring blooming plants are blooming very early. Here in Stone Mtn, my dogwoods are now in full bloom. Usually the trees don't start blooming till 1st or 2nd week of April.

And it's a spectacular dogwood bloom around here. As I drive around up my street and environs and it looks like snow on the mountain around here.

Possibly this early spring bloom is what it's going to be from now on because as I understand it in the last couple of years we changed from zone 7B to 8.

Could be wrong, though--??

Seeing as how the atlanta dogwood festival is mid april I think it is a tad bit early.

IT's actually nice that they bloom early this yr. We ususally miss them other yrs when we went on Spring Break vacations.

I am thinking of moving some dogwoods around in my yard. Heard they don't move well? Is that true?

Our dogwoods bloomed sparsely last year- this year even a tree that has never bloomed heavily is covered with blossoms. And the others are just beautiful.

That's exactly what I was thinking quirky.

I haven't had much luck with dogwoods. But now that my pines are getting big and casting some shade, maybe I'll try some again.

I too am noticing flowers on trees that never bloomed before. Guess they are happy this year.

a better-than-average spring flowering season to follow a better-than-average fall color season. I wonder what it all means!
