Sorry to hear about your water problems. Hope your unthinking neighbor has an inground pool. Several years ago, a neighbor across the way, installed a very large above ground one. It was on a slight slope, so they used fill dirt under the lower side. During one night, a torrential rainfall eroded the fill and the pool collapsed, dumping many 1000 gallons of water downhill into his neighbors backyard and the rear of his dwelling, flooding the basement. Much damage resulted. Any neighborly friendship went downhill with the water!

I would prefer a De' pireaux (Cajun; pirogue) (Pee'-row), a wide, flat-bottom, shallow draft canoe and a long pole to propel it, instead of a paddle. You can either sit or stand in it, while surveying your new lake property!
