Local source for cell-packs or peat-pot strips?

Does anyone know of a place in metro Atlanta area to buy 18-cell plastic packs or peat-pot "jiffy strips" like this:

I will need to transpant out my seedlings in the next couple of days. I can't seem to source anything locally at Ace/Home Depot/Lowes. All they carry are seed starter trays.

I would love to find the actual black water trays these fit into as well.

Anyone help? Prefer to drive less than 45 minutes from the Capitol Building in Atlanta (or Turner Field/Braves Stadium, if you're a sports fan =)

I found them at the local Walmart. I had also checked Lowes/Home Depot first and neither offers them this year so far.

You could try Progress Growers in Ball Ground - pretty far away, but just in case: (800)-666-4178

not a Wal Mart fan here, but i am desperate. do they sell the square "jiffy strip" peat pots? i found round peat pots at HD, but i specifically want the square ones that are clustered (2x4, 3x6, etc). i am hoping this is what Wal Mart is carrying....where are they located? in the garden section?

i found them online but i need them soon enough that i would need to pay as much as the pots cost in order to get them here in time.

i have my growing rack setup in the basement, and will need to transplant to real pots by friday. hoping to find some of what i'm looking for by then.

SH, have you tried HD on Lawrenceville Hwy? I bought some 2x4 format Jiffy strips there, but it was a few weeks ago now. They were in a pack of 4 or 5 strips of 2x4. I _think_ they also had the water trays for them, but am not sure. They were all on a rack in the "greenhouse" area there, not fully outside.

I've also seen some peat pots at Ace on Scott Blvd (more recently, like 1-2 weeks ago). I think they had individual small square pots (which are bigger than each cell of the 2x4 strips). I didnt notice if they had any of the strips in stock though.

    Sattlellitehead,

I'm no fan of Walmart either. Reason I tried Lowes and Home Depot first.

What I was looking for and found were square Jiffy Strips 10. They are clustered 2 x 5. Each package contained five strips. I can't remember the price, but I recall they were fairly inexpensive. They were in the garden section, next to the seed rack. May not be the same at your local Walmart, but something tells me all of the their stores are clones.

Hope you find them locally soon.

    Opal, you rock!

Went to WM today, they had them in stock. Come in packs of 50 for $2. Bought 350 + two of the 2x5 greenhouse packs (5 2x5's and the plastic greenhouse for $5).

I just finished setting up a grow bench in the basement, now that the kitchen remodel is halfway done. Can't wait to transplant out tomorrow :)

I ordered them for our Ace but they did not come in. I guess the warehouse is out of stock. Sorry SH

no worries, GGG! i will probably use a good number of these this year. hopefully village green will have them next year.

i would love to find a local source for the Jiffy
Strips in the 6-cell configuration, or, if that's not possible, 8-cell configuration would be a second choice. if you're able, that would be incredible.

You mean still 2 narrow but 6-8 long? The data base we order from says we have access to them, but again, not showing as being in the warehouse. I'm having a lot of problems with the new 2009 product introductions of ACE not being in the warehouse this year. It is sad because this is great stuff - excellent prices on organics, Jiffy products etc. I don't know what is up?! Nobody seems to!

    i mean the 6-cell (2 cells x 3 cells) or 8-cell (2 cells x 4 cells) strips. I think the 8-cell is Jiffy part #525 (2.25" deep) or #527 (3" deep), and the 6-cell is Jiffy part #530
