Plant ID with photo(hopefully)

Please, what is this? Stands about 1 foot tall, has a single bloom about 3-4 inches below the single large leaf which stands on a single stem a little larger than a pencil. photos attached, sorry the flower is a little wilted, reminds me of the lenten rose bloom. Any help will be appreciated.

That is a mayapple, Podophyllum peltatum. It is a native wildflower.

Thanks esh ga, I will tell my neighbor the correct name, he isnt into plants. He has offered me what ever I want of them so will take a few and put in a obscure place to let them grow. Thanks for your info again.

They are excellent spreaders so just a few is all you need and they will make a nice colony for you.
