Yes, there is something both you and your neighbours can do. Get air horns. That sounds drastic, but it WORKS and the geese never seem to get used to the sound. Do not set it off at regular intervals, always vary the time, even just by minutes during the hour so they never know exactly when it's going to sound.
There is nothing else you can use, put down...nothing. My mom lives in a community in Canada with a small like. Geese flock to it, they have tried all sorts of methods, but this one is tried and true.

I have never heard of that! Can't you see it? All the neighbors honking the horns sporatically throughout the day in your neighborhood. We might even see you on the news. How long do you have to do it? I wish a horn would work on the darn deer!
