Yes. Several have one blossom open. Knockout, two of the "unknowns", cl. Cramoisi and a Le Pearl de Jardin. The only rose with lots of blossoms open is La Marne. I can't wait for the explosion!!

Yes, Cramoisi Superieur also with a fuschia/magenta color that echoes the also-blooming Maggie rose and which I love so well.

I am new to zone 7 - live in NE Miss in Tupelo area. But I think we are fairly similar to your climate. I'd appreciate any recommendations for no care, easy care roses that bloom early and often. I like red or pink. I've successfully grown Fairy, Belinda, Josephs Coat, cl. pinkie, altissimo and others in south Louisiana. you might see my posts on roses forum. Need suggestions to get them planted soon.

Hello, louisianagal. I did look up some of your posts and I learned you are from St. Bernard parish. I lived in Mandeville for many years; I right away thought you must be near Chalmette and near where some of the worst devastation occurred. I am sad for all of it and for you, but you sound like you are lucky enough to have landed okay. I think you'll like it okay up in Mississippi but it will probably never be the same. I'm a northerner and I still miss New Orleans. (I've been here 5 yrs.)

Most of the roses you mentioned, The Fairy, Belinda's Dream, Altissimo, Joseph's Coat, etc. should do fine here, just as well as in La. For a lot of blooms with very little care I have The Fairy, Mutabilis, and Cramoisi Sup., those are really the best that stand up to my neglect. Second line would be Duchesse de Brabant, Don Juan does ok (except needs more sun); Sally Holmes; and Maggie. Last (these fare terribly, lose their leaves and look terrible in the summer but I put up with them for the most part because when they make blooms they're stupendous) are the hybrid tea/david austins - Heritage, Chrysler Imperial, etc.

My Marie de Pavie is a disappointment but I understand some of them are very good, others are poor, depending on where they come from. And Perle d'Or and La Marne (and of course Knockout which I'm not too fond of) are supposed to be great healthy blooming machines.

my joseph's coat started blooming last week. it looks like I plugged in a string of red lights. my miniature cream/white pink (maybe Bianca? I don't know....pretty sure it's one of the Parade family) is about to pop any second now. my miniature reds ain't doin' diddly. My Cherokee put out about 7 flowers on the oldest part of the bush.

I'm probably almost a couple weeks behind Atlanta here in North Hall County, but my young Rosa primula opened its first couple of flowers day the day you posted.

I have my second plant blooming now.. I have tons of buds on all my David Austin roses and anxious to see a bush in full bloom...
