Help me find evergreen shrubs

I recently had to build a shed, and would like to place some shrubs around it so it doesn't stand out quite so much, and to mask the gap that the shed runners create.

Unforuntately, when I planned ahead for the gravel shed foundation, I did not think ahead for landscaping -- otherwise, I would have left two feet for plants to grow.

I've got about a foot on each side of the shed to plant. Right now, there is 3" or so of gravel down, but I can move some to plant whatever kind of shrub I choose.

Please suggest some sort of evergreen that would work well in this space -- I would prefer bushes that will grow into a small hedge. I'm thinking about 2 feet high will probably work best, since the shed side walls are only 6' high.

I'm located in Marietta, and because of the shed, each side probably get sun about half of the day.

You could put a trellis up against the wall and plant a vine. Evergreen clematis, Jackson vine or Crossvine - these are all evergreen.

I think that gravel area is too narrow for a shrub.

The flowering vine (flowers are very aromatic!), known as Confederate Jasmine, Trachelospermum jasminoides, would probably work there, grown as a groundcover, Shear lightly occasionally to promote branching and a neater appearance.

I grow 2 types of dwarf evergreen shrubs that make a low, tidy hedge. Pieris japonica 'Cavatine' and Nandina domestica 'Wood's Dwarf'
There are dwarf variegated forms of Pieris that would probably appreciate a more sunny exposure. I have one in morning sun and after 20 years, with no pruning, it's only about 3Â½ ft. tall.
Nandina 'Wood's Dwarf' is a very attractive wintertime shrub, as the foliage turns red and burgundy. I've never had berries on mine (sterile?), so there has been no chore of removing them, before the birds scatter the seed all over the countryside!

You might also investigate some of the dwarf conifers, such as False Cypress, Chamaecyparis pisifera & C. thyoides.
You can shear them almost anytime to control height and width. Many have very attractive foliage.

Leucothoe fontanesiana 'Rainbow' or L. axallaris (agressive!) and Dwarf Boxleaf Euonymus japonicus, (available in green or with yellow or white variegation), could also be candidates for the location.

I assume you have corrected any drainage problems at the site. That would be a necessity, before locating most plants in the area.
