Winnie - you are up for surprise! First - you take the cuttings from the tops and root them - just stick in a humid light soil (1:1:1 soil works just right) and put a plastic bag on it for humidity.

Next thing - you shake the pot out - and it will be full of rhizomes - modified thick stems. Each of them - a beginning of a new plant. I usually put them in a zip bag with a barely humid vermiculite or sphagnum moss - and pin it somewhere I can see - in a month or 2 the rhizomes will be sprouting - and you can plant them - 3- 5 in a pot - so you will have enough for yourself and all your friends to share.
