Looking for container advise

I'm intending to put a fuschia in a large terra cotta planter. Since I've been told that I can overwinter this in my basement I'd like to do that. I don't get too excited about moving that big container into the basement though. :(( Actually I will put something lightweight in the bottom so that will help with the weight issue. Even when I've done that in the past though they still seem pretty heavy. Any other suggestions? Should I put it in a smaller container and put the whole container inside the larger one? Do fuschias get root bound easily?

TIA
