I only grow a few gingers, in pots, here in Indiana, so I'm no expert, but have a few ideas. It's tougher since you don't know what you have. If they are hedychiums, and the plants are healthy and mature, and can make full-sized canes, they should bloom at the end of the summer for you if they have enough heat and a long enough season. If they are alpinias, you have to grow big, healthy canes and keep them over winter in a healthy state to bloom the next spring on the previous year's canes.

I have a suggestion...if you can post a good quality picture of your plants, showing size, and condition, someone on this site may be able to offer a suggestion as to what they are and if they are of a size to bloom. Do you know these are all hedychiums? I think the T&M seed mixture usually is that genus. That would help with a reply.

I would first say What do you fertilize with? and how often? If they are growing year round you might need to let them go dormant this winter and give a much needed and deserved rest. Then as early as possible for your situation let them come out of dormancy early spring start all over and that might prompt blooming. I honestly don't know what fertilizer you should use on them inside after new growth is a few feet maybe blossom booster. Outside in Florida I use triple ten with micro elements.

They do need a long growing season. When I lived in Georgia, I'd put them out about April and they'd bloom in September. The ones that stayed in the ground also bloomed late, usually got caught by the first freeze.

The ones I have in the ground here in central Florida are starting to bloom now.
