The big find this year (thanks to the Garden Web) was the Growers' Outlet in Loganville. I found a Franklinia Altamaha for fifteen dollars! That place is just wonderful! It is just a pity it is on the other side of the world from me...or is it...bankruptcy might soon loom large were it any closer :0).

I love that place too nippers. I bought a 1 gallon peony there for $4 last month. A week later I saw similar 1 gallons at Home Depot that weren't even as bushy for $13!!

As for Big Box stores, haven't found any great deals lately but usually do every year. Things like end of season mark-downs of Flowercarpet roses marked down from $16 to $2, 3 gallon Hydrangeas for $3 each, lots of 1 qt to 1 gallon perennials for anywhere from $0.25 to $2. 1 gallon daylilies & Encore Azaleas for $1 each. My favorite was a good-sized Crimson Queen Jap maple originally priced at $70 marked down to $30 but rang up $15 at the register to my surprise. Shoulda' bought the rest at that price but didn't think about it at the time.
