Does anyone know -- how much light does Sinningia calcaria need/like? Say, if you had a choice between a south and north window, which would you pick? I read about some other sinningias that they need a lot of light to grow well, but I can't find anything specific to this one, and I'm wondering if this one is different. So if anyone grows this plant, or knows where it grows in the wild, please let me know what it likes. Thanks in advance!
I googled Brazil Plants, and Mauro says it's from the Atlantic coast of Brazil and it likes shade. Don't know if a north window would be light enough tho'. Needs good drainage--it grows on limestone rocks in nature. Nice picture too. I could probably spend the rest of my life on that site! Didn't check Ron or anyone else--leave the fun to you!
Oh, cool. Just what I was looking for, thanks! If it likes shade, then it'll have to be the north window, it's either north or south for me. But I have supplemental lighting there too, so it should work. And I guess I better add some lime to the mix. I didn't know of this site, Brazil Plants, thanks for pointing it out for me, lots of good info! -- I did check the gesneriad reference website, but they only have a picture, or at least that's all I found there. Thanks for the help!
