Lovely compost . Paper bags - anything paper - makes wonderful compost .
I recently learned that my entire vacuum bag - contents and bag itself - can go in the compost pile . It disappears in no time !
Don't forget the lint from your dryer or hair from your hair brush .

I love the composting idea. Saves buying a kitchen size compost bin, and with a busy household it probably doesn't have time to stink. I used to make Sun Tea, but I've read that it harbors a lot of bacteria, and can actually make you really sick. I'll stick to boiling. I never got sick from Sun Tea, but I don't really want to chance it. Christy :)

Christy - I think you are right - I have read the same thing . The temperature of sun tea stays too low for too long to kill bacteria . A jar sitting in the sun all day is more like a breeding ground for microbes . In Arizona or Nevada it might be a different situation !

I use a larger paper bag to collect the ashes in my fireplace, then I just throw it over the fence into the garden.

When I turned my compost pile yesterday , I found that the vacuum bags had completely disappeared . Waxed paper , coffee filters , coffee grounds , lint , kitchen scraps - all gone .
Big stuff was still there - like large chunks of cow manure and hay - but the cat litter made from corn cobs really decomposed quickly . Hurray !
