Typically I don't see them in the yard till later in the month. Even when I put out feeders. I also have abelia blooming, as well as other things they like.

For some reason, they decide to visit us when the Rose of Sharon are in full bloom.

We are just starting to see a few come to the feeders now. They usually are nesting until June and then start flittering around.

Our usual 4 are zipping around and have been since April. The red honeysuckle has finished blooming and the yellow is now in full bloom and that is where they hang out. They come to the feeder some but not as much as when their babies start flying.

It is June 23rd and I am not seeing any hummers at my place at all...I live in Newnan and normally have several by now...I have feeders out and no visitors....I miss the little guys.

eagertopaint: I am in Newnan also. Yes the hummers have seem to be late. Have had feeders up since way early spring, only saw first one in early June! Latest its been in several years, don't know why, but its something I have noticed and commented about. Now I am covered up and they are draining the many feeders I have out here on the West side of town.

I'm in Roscoe--and I have about 4 or 5 who have been fighting around my feeders for a couple of weeks. The red-throated males are lovely, and they're great fun to watch!
