Thanks for the info. Guess I was right to think it should be grown in a pot here in Georgia. Do you think it's like a potato in the way it needs to have soil around the bottom part of the vine as it grows longer - leaving only the top 1/3 uncovered?

You should see this thing. It has taken off like no body's business and what a gorgeous vine it has. Still wonder if it needs to have part of the bottom of the vine covered to produce baby jicamas. Oh, well, guess no one knows?

I would say no since it is a legume.
