Does anyone know what eats the petals off a purple coneflower adn what I can do to stop the damage? Last year Japanese Beetles shredded their leaves and they looked pitiful. This year, leaves are OK so far. They are full of blooms which look good for a couple of days after they fill out and then something starts clipping off the petals. (I've looked but so far haven't found the culprit whatever it is in action.) I have them in three flower beds and it happens to them in all three.

Any advice offered will be much appreciated.
