I have my lavender in a large pot near my New Dawn climer. I don't water the lavender as often as the rose and it seems to be doing just fine with that arrangement.

People in some areas are able to grow lavender and roses together. I do not think it would work here. The lavender struggles in our heavy soil/humidity/etc. and watering it more would only make it die faster. I haven't been able to keep it alive.

I have my lavender and rosemary planted together. Several years ago, I built up a mound of very loose/sandy soil and they have done very well there.

I had a lavender growing near some roses, until one of the roses (Safrano) got so big it shaded out the lavender. I put soaker hoses around the roses and nothing on the lavender. Also the soil in that spot was not particularly heavy clay. But I yanked the lavender out after the rose overgrew it.
