Very hot today. Early morning trip to the gardden was the last for today. Rain to the West, North and East, but none here.

Some of these are from earlier this year.

Love Sin. Sunrise! So, you keep the seedlings you don't care for?

I think that seedling could grow up to be spectacular! (Unless it's a 3-year-old seedling, and then we could be in trouble.) I LOVE the self color, the lime green throat and the quilling. DON'T GET RID OF IT!!!

Your oldies are also lovely, especially the first one.

Tom, I know what you mean about sweltering...it's 99 and feels like a sauna outside here too. No rain for over a week now and with these temps, things dry out very fast don't they?
I like your Golden Oldies...hey some of us get better with age...dl's can too, can't they? :)
I'm with Chris...don't throw that baby out with the bathwater just yet...she may surprise you next year!! LOL

Tom, I got your rain in buckets this morning, ruining a perfectly lovely seedling bloom...before I could take its picture. We are supposed to get rain all week. I hope it stops by Saturday. That is the bus tour up here.

Too hot to be outside for anything. I did make myself go outside late morning and pick the raspberries. Tom, I'm glad you went outside long enough for us to get a "fix" today. I agree with everyone else, your seedling has possibilities - vivid color and form could improve. Is this a FFO?

Oh, but they are all so lovely as usual. Well, maybe not the last one, I am not one to know if that means it will always look like that or not. Your Golden Oldies picks of the day are always fabulous too. Its hot here too but yesterday was hotter.

Oh, I feel you pain... 99 degrees here and rising. Ick. This morning was not too bad, but I HATE that it does not cool off over night. Hope you get some of that liquid gold... I have been doing the Nekkid Turtle Dance here... got some clouds, but no rain. :o(

It's 80 here at night and today was 101. Only early morning for me outside now. Love your seedling by the way.

Nice pis,Tom. The seedling is an odd duck, but beautiful color, quilling, and such a vivid throat. I don't think it is ugly at all! I have seen some registered cultivars that look worse to me!

Yep,That seedling is a weird looking bloom.I love the color of it.I like Paprika Velvet.Maybe that seedling will be a keeper next year.Very hot here, too.Was 99 and with the humidty brought it up to 104..Just like stepping into a oven to go outside. No rain here for a month and every thing is fried.

I love that Paprika Velvet. Is that a good increaser?
    Really catches your eye immediately.
Wish we could send you some rain as we have had rain for the last several days (with several thunderstorms) and suppose to continue right up to Friday. Veggie garden looks like a jungle.

Yeppers it's hot that you know what down here in Texas but that's the norm for us but I love the winter's here LOL. No rain for sometime and none in the near future.

The heat chases me inside now that I'm matured and getting into the golden years. I have high blood pressure for about 1 1/2 yr's and noticed that I cannot take being in the sun or heat like before. Some people don't notice it like my DH. His is worse than mine. Then one day I was listening to the News and they said people with high blood pressure should stay out of the sun.
Only thing that saved my DH was going in for a sleep test. They could not get his blood pressure down all night. So when we went back to the doctor for the test results I told her about his blood pressure, So she checked it and it was high, then she went back to look at his chart and every time he went in for his check up it was high. This was upsetting for me cause you'd think the doctor would pay close attention to your charts.
With that said only time I get out is early morning and late evening's.

My favorite of the above is Cinnamon Sunrise. Can you tell me the flower dimension and scape height? I have a DL here that was mislabeled years ago, and can't find its ID, but it sure looks like yours.

Now your seedling definitely has PERSONALITY! I'd keep it, for sure, to see what it does next year!

Julie-Cinnamon Sunrise in 6 to 6 1/2" bloom and stands a little over 2 feet tall.

All - Unfortunately the seedling is an older one that I keep hoping with straighten up and fly right, but I'm afraid it's days are numbered. It will be able to make a contribution to future seedlings thru its fine compost.

    O.K. thanks, Tom.
Mine's different then, at only a 4" bloom.

It will be able to make a contribution to future seedlings thru its fine compost.
Say that to its face, and maybe it will fly right next year!
