Tell me about it. I was creating a new bed Friday when it started raining again. I stayed right out there and got soaked. Then, I planted all my new flowers this weekend and today, this storm rolls through and I bet when I get home, my flowers are going to be on the ground. UGGHHH!!!

yep between the heat and rain I can hardly work now. Guess I will get up at o'dark:30 in my bathing suit ( if it is raining ) and just work then! Once the temps get over 70 I have had it. Early this morning it was "ok" but it heated up FAST.

We were lucky to have had such a long spring. We were due for this change to hot, humid and afternoon thundershowers.

Goatster, I always heard that as "dark o'clock". Made me smile, haven't heard it in years.

The storm has passed where you are? Lucky you. Still thundering and lightning and coming down in buckets here in Dacula. I hate it when we go straight to summer from winter!

Will the mosquitos be up at o'dark:30? Maybe I'll have to get to bed at a decnt hour and try that, since they say sun at 6:00 but it showed showers at noon.

I was working in Palmetto yesterday and we didn't get a drop of rain before I left at 5:30p. There was thunder rumbling for 30-45 minutes before I left, but no rain. I get home and soon as I hit the driveway it is still wet in places. I check my rain gauge, it has 1.85" in it!! I live about 15 miles from where I was working. Spotty rainshowers indeed! I live about the same distance from the airport and what do you think they list in todays paper for rainfall yesterday...."trace". Somehow that rain I had was sandwiched between those two locations.

The humidity has been bad the last three days. I'm sure that part is magnified by the fact that Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week had highs in the 60s! The summer switch has now been flipped!

Consider yourself lucky. I'm from the Valdosta area. My lawn is second to none. I raise flowers from seeds and finally finished planting all of them a couple of days ago. Probably a 1000 flowers. I have a green house, glow lights and such. I love messing in the greenhouse and yard. Last night just before church time it started raining and blowing. I heard something fall and went to the back door and saw a hugh oak tree down. Two people couldn't reach around it. Later after church and the rain had stopped I went to the back yard and I had 6 full grown trees down. Cedars, elms and oaks plus limbs everwhere. On the good side no buildings, green house, power lines or such were damaged. I guess you could call that divine guidance. We have had a lot of rain and heat like you'all (southern term) but nothing like this twister or mini-tornado. It acturally did more damage than the hurricane last year. It did miss my tomatoes but many flowers are a thing of the past.

OH NO! I hate to hear that! I know how you feel. When we had the ice storm a few months ago, a huge pine fell down in our backyard and tore down our brand new privacy fence and destroyed some of my plants too. The ground is so soft from this rain. They said on the news that police and fire crews have been very busy cleaning up fallen trees. What a shame.

Some of my impatiens actually have little branches that are rotting and falling off the plant! If it doesn't dry out soon I think many other plants are going to rot also. I hate to complain too much, though, because I know we will be wishing for some of this rain in August!

Sorry about your trees Wally. I am worried about the trees behind my house as they have been standing in water a lot this spring. I hope we don't have any fall into the yard. Hopefully they will fall away from the yard, since I fully expect them to die and fall. 6 in one storm is quite a lot.
