The Depots used to have them but only in the spring. It's very late for them now, Dora. That said, I could not find one this year, either.

It's actually for my father and he lives outside of Savannah. Everywhere he looked down there told him that north GA was a better place to get them.

I don't care for them - according to everything that i've read, they are a bit problematic and that's why the one that he previously had died, LOL.

As much as I love him, He's not a gardener. He sees something growing in a well-cared-for landscape or in a magazine and he gets it in his mind that he's going to plant it in his unkept yard and that it will autmomatically look like what he saw. Everyone here realizes how naive that is.

This is the same person that dug up everything from the foundation around his house and grows weeds up to the brick but planted 20 trees from National Arbor Day foundation just 5 feet apart all across his front ditch. I do love him though. :) I just can't stand his yard.

They are problematic. I just want one for the purple leaf color! There were many specimens along a street in Lake Claire that were gorgeous. This year it looks like two are missing. They were not that old.

Your dad is like so many. All the beauty none of the work! :)

I think I may have convinced my dad to go for something else in that space and not the purple plum.

He at least agreed to not plant any trees until October.
