60 percent chance ....

Good luck in this weeks draw!

Barry dropped less than 2/10 here ... but that is pretty much the 8 week total :(

Hopefully he at least change the current ...

60 percent

Is the best chance I've seen yet and the week doesn't look bad.

Maybe; Just maybe ....

Pretty sad indeed when you have to think about getting up early enough to wash the dust/dirt out of the rain barrels -> but I am a dreaming! ;)

Did you get rain last Friday? We did, here in Bartow County. It was wonderful to sit on the front porch, watch the rain and lightening (far off lightening) and listen to the thunder. I had almost forgotten just how soothing that can be since it's been so long since I've been able to do that.

Unfortunately as we crossed Alatoona Lake yesterday, we noticed that it looks like it would take a flood of Biblical proportions to get us back to the normal water level, but I am thankful for what rain we received last Friday. We have a 50% chance for this evening, but I'm not holding my breath!

    I hope your 60% turns into a 100%~

We got a tiny bit of rain Friday when the storm came through. My little rain gauge showed a quarter of an inch, but that was only because a couple of ladybugs were in it and raised the water level. I have my fingers crossed for today. I'm tempted to take my car down to the car wash for good luck.

The forecast has been modified for my area. It was 60%, it is now 40%! Darn it.

I have an idea. How about we all chip in to buy me a nice Plasma TV set and we will put it in the back of my truck and leave it out there in the driveway all day.
It should rain because the TV is something that would get ruined in the rain, right? OK well if it rains I get to keep the tv and if it doesn't rain then we'll return it an everyone gets their money back.

    Sound like a good plan?

Because it doesn't look like it's going to rain here today. Looks like it's really coming in down in or near toccoa where the OP is.

Had to trash the rain gauge ... dry-rot I think :(
Man, We missed a good one. It blew up just North of us and then, as too typical, split just before getting here to reform South :(
What showed was pretty ( of course I had to stay out in it!) and it ALMOST covered the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket.
I was out of town Friday but the wife said she counted 12 drops on an 8x8 section of deck.
Oh well, 50 percent chance tonight, 40 tomorrow.
Hope some of you folks faired better!

quirky - luck would have it that the tv would be stolen, rained on during the trip to the pawn shop ( in another state even) ... and nobody would get anything :(

Hoping it rains on your picnic!

I got about two-thirds of an inch! Now if it would only do that every day for a month...

We had some rain today. Of course after I had ran around from 5-7 am watering.

Buford, Where are you in relationship to historic downtown buford?

This week looks promising - 30% chance every day until next Tuesday when there is a 60% chance 3 days in a row. Hopefully everyone will get something out of all those days of possibilities.

This is happening because I decided the weed killer I sprayed a month or so ago did a good job and I might as well tackle another area while it was hot and dry .....

As usual, my 60% went to someone else. Does anyone remember way back when we used to get those 3-4 day periods when it rained constantly, non-stop??? How long has it been?

I remember. That's one of my reasons for moving to florida in '03 was because it was raining every day. Since I moved back in '04... no I didn't last long there...it has been bone dry since. I make a point to sorta appreciate this all the time. The day I moved to florida it was snowing..

2 days in a row! This one snuck in from SC, skirted me and blew up South ( glad of that for nickel size hail and 60 mph winds) .... but left a bit more than yesterday.
The bottom of the 5 gallon bucket is dang near covered and I think I have a decent chance for a bit more!
This is exciting! I'll get a new rain gauge in the morning ... now that there might actually be a use for it ;)
Hope you all get your share ... but in a safe manner.

The holes have closed, steady gentle rain has settled in ... I actually saw a mud puddle a bit ago!
Surely Hotlanta has rain coming; Coming in backwards but hopefully coming!
Enlarge map ( radar), animate ...
Hope it hangs together for ya.

Here is a link that might be useful: Good looking chance of rain

Really didn't get much today and of course didn't get any yesterday. Got some small hail and a moderate rain for about 5 minutes. Not going to keep stuff alive with that.

Funny it seems like everyone else is getting real serious storms but not in my little bubble.

Quirky, maybe you should read over the old threads, see who got rain most consistently and then move THERE.

quirky, I was watching the radar and the sky. I was SURE we were going to get doused. Nada! The street is a bit wet, but not much else.

I can't believe it was all around us and we got nothing!

We got another short slamming rain again tonight. My barrels were all full so it ran out the overflow. Oh, for a cistern at times like this!!

My little Target rain gauge says we got almost and inch and a quarter over the past two days!

quirky, I'm about 2 miles west of downtown Buford. Right near the intersection of Shadburn Ferry and Buford Dam Road. I can hear the trains from here.

We did get some rain last night. I got up early to water, but everything was wet.

I had never seen purple on the radar maps before but yesterday I saw a purple super-severe storm hit marietta and also forsyth county and moved to the south. IT didn't start raining here until about 7pm and that was after about 4 hours of teases. Wind and lighting and clouds then 4 hours later, 5 minutes of rain. At least it cooled down some afterwards. It was upper 50's when I went to bed.

Not a drop so far, but I have high hopes of the little cloud that just rolled in.

I ended up with some 6/10 inch in the bucket yesterday ... hope I didn't curse us by putting up the new rain gauge this afternoon :(
Tomorrow is shaping up though ... back to 60 percent!
