When you say you used weed killer, did you specifically use a "brush killer" for woody plants? Regular round up is not the right product.

Cut as much above ground as you can, but leave some piece of accessible stump so that you can apply the brush killer. During the summer, nip off as much as you can of the new growth to keep it from getting any new energy. In the fall, after a good rain, pull out as much as you can and then cut what is left and immediately apply brush killer to all cuts.

This will not be a one year project, but you can beat it. You will still have to deal with a few sprouts even a few years from now, deal with them early. And there may be seeds in the soil, so you may get seedlings as they germinate over time.

Or you could try smothering it with Kudzo!

I did use the wrong product. Looks like Ill be in the jungle for the rest of the summer. I really appreciate the advice and will give it a try. Kudzoo is starting to look attractive lol.
