I too am extremely grateful to be receiving all of this rain. It's been raining for almost 24 hours straight, mostly just slow steady rains with a few downpours.

The only things I've actually lost were some annuals that I gave up on long ago, and most of the lawn in the front yard (it was pretty shabby anyway). Everything else has survived, but is struggling. ANd I'm sooooo happy to have a little free time to myself that I don't have to water this or that...what will I do with my Saturday morning now?

There has been a collective sigh coming from my vegetable garden and shrubline in the backyard!

The change has been remarkable! Everything is looking so refreshed and I am having more trouble keeping the grass short now! The rain has not been as heavy here as other places, but it has been present in one form or another for 6 days in a row! I have also loved that we have steered clear of the 90s too, though we might have one tomorrow. I've only had one high of 90 or warmer this month which is very un-Julylike!

the rain is wonderful. the last few days have been so good with rain on and off. the only downside is the humidity - and i will not complain as long as the rain keeps coming! the garden looks green again, although the lambsear definately preferred the drought conditions!

Still dissatisfied! I am so hard to please.
The rain usually fizzles out right before it gets to my area. And mother nature, if you're reading this, please rain only between the hours of 5am to 4pm. Thanks.

Hello Rb:
I had several vines that I thought were goners a few weeks ago and they are coming back from the roots. A clematis armandii, a jasmine and a passion vine. It is supposed to rain all weekend so don't give up on it yet! Here's wishing you get some rain.

That reminds me of a time when we used to have "rainy days".

Rainy days start out by waking up late because the cloudy skies outside your bedroom window and cooler temps inside do not entice one to wake up or venture beyond the covers.

There is a soft and soothing sound of rain drops landing on the roof or window.

By lunch time, under the cloudy skies and steady rain everything looks so lush and beautiful that despite the rain you want to go outside anyway to take it all in.

The temperature outside is just right. Not too hot, not too cold.

Everyone's outdoor activiites for the day have been canceled so there is a large crowd at the movie theatres.

Haven't had a rainy day in quite some time.

Today started out as one of those rainy days. It just needs to continue.

Oh yes wonderful rain.......

Last night we had a good steady rain. It's been wonderful, except the lawn needs mowing again.

i am so enjoying this wet weather! My lawn needs mowing, the weeds are growing way too fast - but i don't care! In between rain showers i try and get out into the garden for a few minutes and do a little weeding or deadheading of flowers. The fact that i can't finish painting my screened in porch doesn't bother me in the slightest - I guess if this continues indefinitely i may feel a little different but for now, i just love it
