Yes, but will it be as aesthetically pleasing when the wall paint starts to crackle from water moisture above that beautiful tile? Will they notice the beautiful design or just the paint crackling?

I love the matching under-mounted sinks, the streamline faucets, the counter-top and the tile backsplash. The whole design is very beautiful. It is something I would like in my own place. My comment was merely to provide an awareness to designers and home renovators of the realities of how daily use would impact the design and to suggest a way to preserve the beauty of it all by raising the tile backsplash height to twice the height of the spout.

In the Victorian era and into the 30's sinks were often installed with back splashes that were much higher then the standard of a 4 inch backsplash we often see today. I have lived in homes with such sinks. Some time ago a builder was putting in a subdivision of homes an calculated that he could save a lot of money if he just installed a four inch backsplash instead of one at a height that would truly work as a backsplash. We have gotten so used to seeing this 4 inch height that it has become the norm and we don't question whether it really works. I think its time we ask does it work? Does it do its intended job?

I decided to run the backsplash to the height of faucets and divide the distance between the mirrors and counter. The mirrors are also free hanging mirrors, so it may have looked funny to have them "hanging" right above the backsplash. But, thanks for the feedback. Gives me something to think about in future designs.
