You can let them "roam" if you have the space; and depending on what kind they are, you may be able to trellis them. Are they regular Jack-O-Lanterns? If that's the case, it would be more trouble than it's worth to trellis the vines (IMHO).

Let them roam. Cut off main leaders to limit number of pumpkins and the ones that are left should also grow larger.

If your weather is real wet you can protect those pumpkins a bit by setting a small board, or even and inverted tuna can, under them to keep them off the ground. I've done that on occasion.

I have had several female flowers but they won't open they just turn yellow and fall off. i don't have the chance to pollinate them. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Lisa

They never all open just be patient some will open.
