I have done fairly well with spring plantings of Skookum,Teton, Correnta, Hellcat, and Renegage in spring plantings. Little luck in fall planting. They are listed in order of performance. No success with Bloomsdale.

Farmerdilla, have you tried winter plantings with spinaches specified as good for more northerly climates? That is one of my new experiments, fall plantings with veggies recommended for spring planting in the North. However I am also choosing varieties which are both heat and cold bolt tolerant. It's a bit hard to find, but so far I have had good luck, especially with Even'star types.

Actually my spring harvest is winter planted (February). I have some soil oranisms that build up over the summer, so fall plantings of Chenopods have poor germination and those that germinate have their roots rot.
