Brugmansia in Z8A

Hi! Hope y'all don't mind a post from SC, but I really need some info. I posted this originally on the Carolina Forum.

"Advice needed please! I recently got two very healthy Ecuador White Brug rootings from Parks, about 12" tall and tons of roots. I've been told the best thing to do would be to pot them in large pots and overwinter them inside. However, I have no garage or basement, and inside is out because of my animals (brugs are poisonous).

I would like to go ahead and plant them in the yard. They would be in a sheltered place beside the house. Morning sun and afternoon shade. I figure they would have about three months of growing time before it starts getting cold, possibly four considering the warm winters we've had recently.

Does anyone in this area have experience with brugs?"
