Have not heard of that happening, nor have I ever observed it.

I have a crape myrtle that generally blooms every other year. Last year it barely bloomed - two or three blossoms. This year it's covered. Occasionally it blooms two years in a row, but not often. I don't know the reason. The tree is over 20 years old, and it has always done this.

Maybe only CREPE Myrtles do that. CRAPE Myrtles bloom every year for me.

Just kidding ya!!!! LOL Never heard of two year Crapes. Perhaps yours are imported from Mars where a year is 687 days long.

One of my CM didn't bloom at all this year. Perhaps because of the heat/drought? It is a beautiful pink one that has a nice scent. Oh well. It usually turns a nice scarlett for fall.

One of mine bloomed very late and the other did not bloom at all.

Go figure.
