Let it ripen; the seeds should be fine. If this is a hybrid, you may not get a similar plant next year from the saved seeds, however.

NNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is very upsetting! I'm with Renais1. The seed may or may not be true to the parent if it's a hybrid, but it's always fun to save and see. I say it's worth a shot. How big is this pumpkin?

I am so sorry! I have some garden woes starting to threaten me, not including human pests. Pests and diseases in cucurbits is so disheartening. I am so sorry again!

Saving seed is fun I've learned that while rinsing seeds I would let them soak well the ones that sink are the good ones and if they float throw them out .

It looks like the underside may have been rotting and they were just helping it decompose. There's definite discoloration and browning where they were eating.

this little guy seems to be getting along, i re-raised him up on a plank, it has scared up and might just be getting ready to ripen.

thanks garden guy, i will have to use the water trick for my seeds, i want to save them all for a community project for next year..
