Oh god, no kidding! I was going to mow the lawn this evening, but it's now 6:30 and still so hot that I would probably, quite literally, drop from heat exhaustion if I tried. BRING ON THE LOW 80'S!

OHHH, I'm going to start installing my French Drains that day, I hope (I am having a terrible time finding the materials I need), washing the house, painting areas I prepped already, and preparing more for cleaning.
Lets hope it doesn't get any later in the week for lower temps! Last week they were saying it would come on MOnday.

I was outside from 9 till 5 yesterday and thought I was going to die. Went to the plant rescue in the morning, came home showered and went out to plant my aquisitions and wouldn't you know about half way into it the crew from my builder shows ups with the last 1 and 1/2 ton of stone for my rock garden. DH was less than thrilled when he had to come out and shovel buckets of stone for me at 2:00, but we had to get it off the grass since there was no way I was going to have to bring it down the hill ourselves so I had had them put it on a tarp next to the rock garden. Anyway it was so hot we left the last of it in in the wheelbarrow for this morning. I couldn't believe how hot it was already at 10:00 this morning. So after that little a.m. project we decided to clean the basement instead. Much cooler job. But I do think I lost a couple pounds this weekend just from sweating. DH was talking about transferring to Seattle to get away from this heat. Every August he talks about moving, he's so predictable.

haha! I feel your husband's pain. My sister-in-law has been trying to talk us into moving to Seattle. If we hadn't just bought this house two months ago we'd be seriously considering it.

I'm from here and was raised barefoot and without air conditioning - yes, some people suffered from the heat but I enjoyed spending lots of time outdoors where there was a breeze (sometimes). Back then the heat didn't bother me much at all but nowadays I am used to air conditioning and find it miserable to go outside and walk around the garden doing nothing but looking around and then come back inside literally wringing wet - I'm talking about sweating so profusely that it looks like I just stepped out of the shower. I sure feels good to come inside, take a real shower, put on the bare essentials and have something cold to drink. This weather is even hard on plants as I have had a couple expire. Everyone take care till the relief comes , probably later this week.

well, I have strep throat so am feeling pretty bad. Haven;t been outside since yesterday morning and am hoping the heat will break around the time I feel better!

I don't know about you but I wouldn't like to live in Seattle. It's rainy, cloudy and dreary there a lot. I love the sun, especially in the winter and we have a lot of nice sunny days in fall, winter and spring when it's drizzly in Seattle. I'm strange. When it's dreary and rainy, my mood reflects that.I must admit that I don't like being in the sun here in the summer. It's too intense. But I'll stay here. We just have to survive the summer here and then we have great weather the rest of the year. And it's not much longer! Yeah.

I have to say, the heat has really awakened the butterflies in my garden. They are flitting everywhere. Lots of different vaireities too. It took them long enough to show their faces but now the garden is full of them!

Looks like we are in for some crazy weather...Katrina is now a major hurricane which might drop 4-7 inches of rain on us.
