probably Miscanthus "Cosmopoliton" or "Cabaret" (they vary in type of variegation), they have large blades and and look like a huge fountain grass

Many thanks. I Googled both M. 'Caberet' & 'Cosmopoliton' and they look very similar and quite like the one I've got. But, the literature says that 'Caberet' has white variegation down the center and 'Cosmopoliton' has the variegation on the sides of the blades. Bummer, my OG has white variegation down both sides with a white center strip as well! Wouldn't you know it.....

Does this mean it's neither of the above...or ????

M. sinensis 'variegatus'

Donn...the M.sinensis 'variegatus' seems to have the same variegation pattern. The only thing holding me back from saying this is certainly my grass is the zone. I remember the tag saying my OG was hardy only to Z6. I hesitated before purchasing it. All the info I've located on M.sinensis 'variegatus' seems to place its hardiness between 4-5a. Normally, growers try to fudge zones towards the cold end not the other way around. What I'm learning is that many of these grasses look very similar to each other. Darn, I'm going to look around my neighbor's weed patch and see if the tag blew over there somewhere....

Guess I could go back to the nursery next year and see if they've got the same thing again. That M.s.'variegata' sure has similar markings.......

I have 4 M. varagatus plants and they are most hardy to my zone 5 climate. My thought is that Cabaret is supposedly less cold hardy than either Cosmo or Varigatus. Varigatus also does not grow to 9 feet, but Cabaret most likely does. Just my two cents... ;)
