Native Azaleas (Plumleaf & Hammock Sweet), Hydrangea paniculatas. Oxblood lilies, several Tricyrtis (Toad lily) varieties, Hostas, Lantana, Cyclamen, hardy Begonia, Nicotiana, Clematis, a few blooms on some minature Roses, and an Azalea topiary in full bloom for the second time this year!
Looking every day for Surprise lilies (Lycoris), fall Crocus, Sternbergia and Colchicum. Chelone is in bud, but none opening yet.
Usually get a flush of blooms on the Celandine poppies and Corydalis lutea during the fall, but many are going dormant this year. Heat and drought probably did them in. The fall flowering Anemone hupehensis don't look so great either. Will be lucky to see many blooms on them.

crepe myrtle, rose of sharon, rudbeckia, garden mum, Clematis henryi, miniature roses, The Fairy, Joseph's coat roses, tall phlox, wild dayflower, jerusalem artichoke, begonia, ice plant, morningglory, marigold, sage, mint, sweet autumn clematis, four o'clocks. Bengal and dwarf pink cannas. my obedients are budding too. And my hens and chicks are blooming! never seen them do that before.

Chelone is blooming. Ligularia just finished. The blooms on the Royal Standard hostas are just finishing. The anemones have tons of buds, but haven't started yet. And I noticed this morning that the chrysanthemum I got at the spring swap is putting out buds like crazy - it was only three inches tall when I planted it in the spring. An unknown clematis puts out a bloom a week and has done that all summer. All the sages are still blooming, also the dill and chives.

Currently: Cardinal flower, goldenrod (solidago), annual salvia, black eyed susans, Formosa lily, Miss Huff lantana (it's HUGE), anise hyssop, red yucca, hardy cyclamen (that was a surprise), woodland sunflower, and annual vinca.

Just finished: plumleaf azalea, clethra, spider lily (Hymenocallis caroliniana - first year for this), carolina lily, Scutellaria, joe pye weed, beautyberry.

Yet to come: Helianthus angustifolius, asters, surprise lily, chelone (in bud here), hardy ageratum.

I looked more carefully and found several more things blooming. Miss Huff is huge, and just in one season. Cardinal flowers have just finished. I have a few cannas and Mexican petunias. Fairy rose still keeps working. Hostas are in full bloom. I have cypress vine everywhere. The list goes on. Also, I am waiting for some stuff to get started. Don't you just love swamp sunflowers?

Oh I agree! Swamp sunflower (Helianthus angustifolius) puts on a late season (October) bloom show that is hard to match. And given that it blooms when most other things are gone makes it extra special.

I still have a little color in my yard. By the tiny pond all flowers are blue or purple. Still blooming are Salvia guaranitica, Pickerel Weed, Balloon Flowers and Purple Hyacinth Bean Vine.

Between the greenhouse and the pool is a path almost blocked by flowering plants. Cannas, Mexican Petunias, Hibiscus, Spillanthes, Gomphrena, Moss Rose,Mongolian Astors,Blood Flowers(Asclepias currasavica)Vitex and Zinnias still bloom there as well as a huge Hosta ordorata which smells fantastic.

I really like the Merxican Petunias. They seem to be able to bloom all summer long and against these Cannas makes for a great contrast of colors.

I hope everyone that took Blood Flower seedlings this spring had good luck with them. This is an important plant for Monarch butterflies which like the blooms and lay eggs on the plants for next years butterflies. It seems to be prefered over Asclepias tuberosa which is one of their native favorites.

I made a list. This is actually a very neat idea that I am going to try to do all year. Make a list for every month, of what is in bloom. I've seen these 'whats blooming" posts many times but it never occured to me to keep track year round.

That blood flower looks interesting. I've been growing milkweed but the aphids destroy it before the monarchs get here (and I don't want to spray it for obvious reasons).

We've got cannas, sunflowers, hyacinth beans, obedient plants, mad crazy zinnias, salvia guarantica, rose of sharon, passionflower vines, a HUGE SCARY Miss Huff Lantana just like esh_ga's apparently (I had no idea they could get that big), pretty but evil morning glories, 4 o'clocks, rudbeckia, begonias, impatiens, annual salvia, butterfly bushes, still the hostas, liriope, the occasional rose, a few reblooming azaleas, even a couple late gardenia blooms... The figs are still figging, do those count? \

I've got a Southern Belle Hibiscus (WSed) that just started blooming! Big pink blooms with a red center.
