Yes, I've been trying to spend the early morning hours out dead heading, weeding and removing damaged stems from all the earlier rains. I have noticed, a lot of things need dividing and better staking.

I may give up on the roses. Tey are just so diseased I'm not sure their worth it except for their blooms. Okay maybe I'll keep a few.

When I squint my eyes toward the neglected sea of weeds I call my temporary garden, the flowers I see towering above are almost all yellow, white and blue, all set off by the lovely little scarlet flowers of the wild morning glory coccinea that's trying to smother everything else. There are a couple of very sad defoliated hybrid musks in there someplace, but also two noisettes, 'Crepescule' and 'Blush Noisette', that are happy and healthy and blooming away in the same conditions. We're finally building the house that will be surrounded by a permanent garden for these guys, and I want August to look a lot like this there, only with the paths still visible and negotiable.
