the little ads that are now tacked onto our posts? The first one I saw was on WannaBeGardener's post. I thought she was advertising - sorry WannaBe. But they're everywhere on the forums. I see them on certain words - weeds, garden, plant, yard, seed. The one attached to weeds is for some web site that sells industrial strength weed killer. I can't think of a harder group than gardeners to sell industrial strength chemicals to. From now on we'll have to call plants by their names, refer to yards as the property within our spatial boundaries, seeds as future flora delivery systems, gardens as outdoor decorative areas, and weeds what they truly are - the enemy.

I have not noticed this yet but did have a pop up from hotels.com come up with your post of Have You Noticed. I am tired of the pop ups. I guess they have to sell space??? Is it like commercials on TV?

LOL. If you go to any forum here, there is a thread concerning this. Personally I would rather have text link ads than the flash animations, screen sliders or the banners.
Long after these pages load, my status bar shows ivillage is still loading something and that makes me a little nervous. Of course they are in addition to those other things so I guess it's accept it or move on to a forum like davesgarden dot com that charges money to read and post.

I don't get any of the ads. You can become a member and pay $15.00 and then you don't get any ads. They started this a couple of years ago when the internet market took a serious downturn.

I found out on the Suggestions forum how to get rid of the double underlines. If you use Firefox (Mozilla) with the Adblock extension: select Tools/Adblock/Preferences. Type intellitxt in the Filter text box and click Done. It blocks all ads from Intellitxt - the ad company who is putting the double underlines in posts. It worked - no more industrial weedkiller ads. Glad some smart gardener on the Suggestions forum figured this out.

This is not the only website with the "double underlines". Unfortunately, it seems they are infiltrating everywhere!
