It will do perfectly well there. It is hardy to much colder temperatures than south Georgia has to offer. Or North Georgia, for that matter! Look up Ilex cassine for further information on this great native plant.

Yes, it is hardy up to Virginia (which I suppose could be 6b, but I think much of coastal Virginia is 7a or higher). I looked it up - seems like a nice plant - should not be problem in South Georgia.
