Go to vintagegardens.com and look at their hydrangea page. Beni Gaku is a hydrangea serrata. They have some pictures of it there, but the pictures don't really do the foliage justice. I really like the flowers, but I think that the foliage is also very nice. It's a darker green than my other hydrangeas, and the leaves are narrower and finer.

I think you will be amazed by the variety of hydrangeas Vintage offers; at least I know I was. I've ordered both roses and hydrangeas from them before and have always been very pleased with their plants, their packaging and their prices. This is also where I got my dichroa febrifuga plant, from which I still have one rooted cutting that is unclaimed for the trade (GGG wants the other one.)

I would happily take that Dichroa off your hands!!!!
