This morning we had our lawn aerated and overseeded with fescue. A section of the yard was pretty barren of grass, thus the aeration did a nice job of tearing up / loosening the clay soil.

Question: Since the clay is really loose now, should I top dress with mushroom compost or other product to help keep the clay from compacting? Or would it be a waist of time and money?
